I bought this straightener a couple of years ago for a whopping $300, but am pleased to see you can buy them for considerably less now. However, although it was a lot more than I ever wanted to spend on a straightener, the 10 yr warranty sold it in the end. I have been extremely happy with mine, and it’s still going strong. As I have very thin hair, I can’t have it anywhere near the 200 degree mark, so the Metropolis beats ghd hands down regarding the temp control feature. I feel ghd are doing themselves a major disservice by ignoring this need. Anyway, it really does do a great job. Once I started sectioning my hair into smaller sections, and using heat products to seal the hair, I found this straightener to work even better. Proper technique is the answer with any hair straightener, but this particular model keeps your hair sleek and straight for a whole day and night without having to re-straighten any sections. I would recommend the Metropolis without hesitation.
